Finishing the book a week ago, I hypothesize I still need to give it some age to eat up in. This novel, by Timothy Findley, is a precise dark variation of the biblical Noah storey. The characters brace now been flat out completed, and are vividly drawn and universally flawed, in a typical Findley-esque fashion. Unpredictably, the story comes to a surprizingly bleak conclusion. I hark back I testament appreciate this book more as I have duration to think back on it... After reading the pages 287 until the barricade of the book, I can in the polish off say that I am glad to be destroyed reading this novel and housecoat up my series of daybook responses. Being a youth, and subtle that people are mesmerised by magical and enigmatical things, the biblical account of the first end of the earth was written unbelievably perceptive by the author. Noahs actions themselves are not so disturbing (except for the scene with Emma and the Unicorn horn), barely his all-to worryher set of beliefs - his heartfelt and sacrimonial conviction - that his actions are justified by god.
